WoW Forever: The Gold Buyer Walked. Who Got Banned?

31 October 2026 · Short · Watch on YouTube

Play the Short

Danycron named a WoW Forever beta character John Goldbuyer, bought about 400 gold on camera and reached the end of the beta with no ban. Then a second player came forward: a mail bug, he says, delivered the seller's first 25 gold to him instead. He reported the bug and says he was banned the next day, permanently. Blizzard's own October 1 post says it actions accounts that purchased or knowingly received illicit gold. An obituary, read by the deceased.

Obituaries — two Johns

Two Johns walked into the WoW Forever beta. Danycron named his John Goldbuyer1. He bought about four hundred gold. On camera2. The beta ended. No ban3. Subtle name. Nobody clocked it.

Obituaries — the rule

Blizzard, October first4. They punish buyers. And anyone who "knowingly received illicit gold"4. Knowingly.

Obituaries — the other John

The second John bought nothing. A mail bug sent him a seller's gold. His story, in Danycron's Discord5. He reported the bug. Banned the next day. Permanently5. Very knowing. Danycron checked his old footage6. Same seller.

He's asking nicely. It isn't working.

Obituaries — cause of death

I've never bought gold. I never will. I want buyers banned. Fast. The right ones. Cause of death: wrong John.

I'll be here. Forever.
